Come meet our giant babies! You may see Belgian draft horses, Bill or Jim, on a trail ride. They are a great ride.

It is our goal at Sugar Creek Resort to attempt to provide the public with an enjoyable outdoor experience. In order to achieve this we must impose rules and conditions. These are for the safety of our clients, staff and animals. While there is no way we can guarantee your safety, we do make an attempt to minimize the possibility of injury or death.
To best accomplish our goal of providing you with the most pleasant outdoor experience we wish to list some of our rules and conditions so you will have a better understanding of when and how we may accommodate your request to go trail riding.
We have the right to refuse the use of our horses if there are any reasons we believe might place you or our horses at risk. Our horses aren't considered "tools of the trade" to be used and discarded. They are part of our extended family and we treat them accordingly.
Anyone over 225 pounds must convince our staff that the muscle to mass ratio is sufficient to provide agility and coordination to insure his/her safety.
Trail rides are for adults (those 18 years of age and older) only.
To protect our horses we use the "180" rule. If the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity in percentage added together are greater than 180 we do not utilize our horses. If the index is 140 to 180, we will only do rides in the coolest part of the day. If below 140, we will trail ride anytime during the day you have a reservation.
There are other rules and conditions you must agree to which are contained in the trail riding waiver accessible through this website Please read it carefully so you may determine if you are willing to accept these rules and conditions prior to making a reservation.
A Trail Riding Liability Waiver will need to be completed and signed for trail riding. A Liability Indemnification Form for adults or a Liability Indemnification Form for Minors will need to be filled out for all other activities at Sugar Creek Resort. You may wish to download and sign the appropriate liability waiver in advance or you may complete these forms when you arrive. The Liability Indemnification Form for Minors must be signed by a parent or legal guardian so if the parent does not accompany the minor this form must be brought with the child.
Approved headgear is provided. We suggest you wear long pants, closed in shoes and sunscreen.
